A domain is an addressing construct used for identifying and locating computers on the Internet. Domain names provide a system of easy-to-remember Internet addresses. A domain name is hierarchical and often conveys information about the type of entity using it. A domain name is simply a label that represents a domain, which is a subset of the total domain name space. Domain names at the same level of the hierarchy must be unique. For example, there can be only one com at the top level of the hierarchy and only one company.com at the next level of the hierarchy. |

We have several domains you can use. If the name you want is not available, try a different domain. If that doesn't work, try another name or a number after your name. |

VDirect is a redirection of your URL and email. We do not provide any space for your web site or email on our servers. To find out how to upload your site, you will need to check with your hosting company. |

URL stands for Universal Resource Locator. A URL is used to locate information on the Internet. For example, web pages are addressed with an "http://" URL such as "http://www.company.com" or "http://mysite.vdirect.com". |

A redirect and a forward are basically the same thing. When someone uses your VDirect address (for your web site or email), we redirect or forward them to the address you have on file with us. |

We do not provide a master list of available names. The only way to check a names availability is to try to signup for it. |

No. The VDirect tells the user's computer where your site is. After that, the connections are between the user and your server. |

No. We don't need to have access to your server. The only thing we need is the URL and email address to which you want your VDirect address redirected. |

| | What kind of host names can I signup for? |

The host names must start with an English alphabetical letter (a-z) and can contain letters, numbers and underscores (_). The minimum length is 3 characters, and the maximum is 50 characters. |

Our service is free because we believe that everyone should be able to have lifetime, uniform (web site & email) addresses on the Internet. With our service, you never have to change your address when you change providers. Also you never have to pay for your address. In order to provide this service, we simply display an ad when someone visits your site. We realize that some people may not want an ad, so we also offer a pay service that removes the ad from your site. |
